Daily Quest Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Day in the Country, LLC (“we,” “us”) handles information in Daily Quest, our private daily planning dashboard at quests.dayinthecountry.co. Access is currently restricted to the authorized account. This policy covers Daily Quest; it does not describe purchases from our Shopify store or other apps.

Information we access and store

• Google sign-in: We receive and store your verified email address and Google account identifier to recognize your account. We store encrypted access and refresh tokens so the app can access the Google services you authorize. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• Google Calendar: With your permission, the app reads your accessible calendar list and events from the calendars displayed on your dashboard, including event titles, times, and other details returned by Google. These requests pass through our Cloudflare backend to your browser. Event responses are processed temporarily for your dashboard; Daily Quest does not save them as a calendar archive in its database. Your selected calendar identifiers are saved as preferences. Google access is read-only: Daily Quest cannot create, change, or delete your Google events.
• Quests and preferences: We store the tasks, notes, due dates, progress, completion history, focus selections, and settings you save so they are available across your signed-in devices. We also retain task-action records to prevent duplicate actions and help resolve interrupted requests.
• Work briefs: Files or text you preview remain in your browser until you choose to import them. An imported brief, including its meeting details and priorities, is then saved to your cloud dashboard. Daily Quest does not directly connect to your work Outlook account.
• Optional Todoist connection: If you connect Todoist, we store its API token encrypted and an account identifier. Task and project information is used to create and update quests. The app can send task creation, completion, and undo actions to Todoist when you request them. Synced task details and progress may remain in your saved dashboard after disconnection.
• Support and technical information: If you contact us, we receive the contact information and message you submit. Our hosting providers may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, browser information, timestamps, and errors, to deliver and protect the service.

How we use information

We use this information to sign you in, display your calendar, save and synchronize your quests, perform actions you request, respond to support requests, and maintain the service. We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or include advertising or behavioral analytics trackers in Daily Quest.

We follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used for the dashboard features you authorize, not for advertising, data brokerage, or training general-purpose AI models.

Service providers and sharing

Cloudflare hosts the app and its database and processes information needed to operate it. Google provides sign-in and calendar access. Todoist processes task requests if you connect it. These providers may process information in countries where they operate. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to address security incidents, subject to applicable restrictions on Google user data.

This public policy page and our website support forms are hosted on Shopify, which processes visits and form submissions under its own service practices. Opening this policy page does not send your Daily Quest calendar or saved quests to Shopify.

ChatGPT and information you choose to export

Daily Quest does not automatically send your data to ChatGPT or another AI service. The ChatGPT link opens a separate website. If you generate a planning summary, it is prepared locally for you to review; copying and pasting it into another service shares the text you choose with that service, under its policies. Browser extensions you install may have their own access and privacy settings.

If you export a backup, your saved quests, imported briefs, progress, and preferences are downloaded to your device. That backup does not contain connection tokens or the live Google Calendar event cache. You control any further sharing of the file.

Storage, security, and retention

App connections use HTTPS. Provider tokens are encrypted before storage, and access to dashboard data requires an authorized sign-in. We use essential secure cookies for sign-in and session handling. These cookies are not used for advertising. No security measure can eliminate every risk.

Saved account and dashboard information remains in the cloud until it is removed or you request deletion; it is not automatically erased when you sign out. Google event responses are held temporarily during use rather than added to the saved dashboard. Operational logs and backup copies may remain for the retention periods of the relevant provider.

Your choices and deletion requests

You can change which Google calendars are displayed in Settings and revoke Google access through your Google Account connections. Revoking access prevents future authorized reads but does not itself delete saved Daily Quest account or quest data. Signing out ends that browser session; it does not revoke the Google connection or delete cloud data.

You can disconnect Todoist in Settings, which removes the app's saved Todoist token. It does not delete tasks from Todoist or automatically remove previously synced quests.

To request access, correction, or deletion of your Daily Quest account, saved data, connection credentials, or support messages, email info@dayinthecountry.co. We may verify account ownership before acting. Deletion requests are handled manually; there is currently no self-service account deletion button. Copies you exported or pasted into other services must be managed separately. Deleting Daily Quest data does not delete your original Google Calendar events or Todoist tasks.

Children and policy changes

Daily Quest is a private planning tool and is not directed to children under 13. It does not offer public account registration.

We will update the date on this page when this policy changes. If a change introduces new access to or uses of Google data, we will explain the change and request any required consent before enabling it.
